First week of Training!

Hello all!!! Well it has been almost one week of intensive training...And I wont have a day off till Friday. :S This first week has been crazy...with Inductions...Medical tests...more Inductions...Grooming sessions..hehehe...yeah they teach us how to look after our appearance, and they take the whole day!!! We guys even have to learn how to polish our nails once a month...and believe me or not..they keep checking on us even after we start flying. It was a funny day. Yesterday was good fun cos we all went to vist the Dubai Museum...and it was great to understand a more of the cuture here...Talking about the culture...
The day before yesterday we had a "Welfare Talk"...which was nothing but..How we (westerners) should behave in their country! The local lady, dressed as a black tent came in looking very nice..but we had no idea what was ahead of us...It was 3 hours of intense heavy information on their culture. Which I will try to resume...:
To start we gotta be VERY carefull if we dont want to spend a few nights...months...or even years in prison for a silly mistake. Drunk driving here has ZERO tolerance...Even after one or 2 days...If u have an accident and they test ur blood..and find 0,0001% of alcohol there...JAIL!!! :( Girls can't have male visitors over night...EVEN THE WESTERNERS!! If something happens...and the Police nocks the poor girl door...JAIL for both!!! Not to mention the way the dress...Nway, I could go on and on forever here guys..just like that lady...and you all would never want to come and visit me...hehehe...so I better stop. Luckly, we have a few Locals in our Batch (Group) and after this session, they told us that it is not that bad. They just like to scare us to start with, to make us aware of what (in the worst case scenario) can happen. But it does piss u off a little, cos when they come to visit our country we dont go telling them to take off the tent!
Moving on...I cant believe I've been here for less than a week! It seems that I know all this people so well...I've been hanging out with this really funny German Girl, called Petra, this Maltese guy, called Kevin (Funny bastard that one!), a local guy called Hamad, such a nice guy hey...been taking us up and down every day..and already invited us three to go to his parents place a few hours driving from Dubai. Appart from the "Fantastic 4", all the others in my Batch happened to be nice...Oh yeah there is a Egyptian Girl who is very nice too...Nway...today we started serious training...Basics Aerodinamics...Airbuss 330 Safety Equipments...and my fav topic ever...TURBULENCE!!!! So fucking funny!!! For ex: In the case of a Unexpected Severe Turbulence...in the middle of trhe service...we had to lock the trolley...put the coffe and tea on the floor (if any)...and take a seat in the nearest empty seat...or in the case or Emirates flights, cos they never got an empty seat...seat on the lap of the first passenger u fancy!!!! hahahahaha... I cant wait to get my ass on the Simulator tomorrow for some terrifying "fake" - Tahnk God - experience!!!!
I think thats all for the time being guys...Still catching up with the Oz Crew every now and them...cant help it! A few Brazilians arround here as expected too...I hope u all enjoy my new look...wearing my Uniform!!! :P and PLEASE COMMENT!!! Miss you all...Xoxo

OI GALERA!!!
Nem acredito que fazem menos de uma semana que estou aqui...Tem sido tao intenso que parece que estou aqui a seculos!!! Essa primeira semana foi mais Introducoes mesmo...Tbem tive que fazer alguns exames medicos aqui e ali. Outro dia tivemos uma palestra sobre a cultura local e como devemos nos comportar por aqui. Nossa que medo! Quase sai da sala e pedi minha demissao!!! QQ bobeira aqui...vira CADEIA mesmo! Sem contar nas coitadas das meninas que nao podem fazer nada...Nah...Tbem nao eh pra tanto...Gracas a Deus temos uns locais no nosso Grupo e eles depois nos tranquilizaram um pouco. Parece que fazer isso pra gente se comportar!!! Oq eh mais do que justo.
Fiz alguns amigos aqui jah...Uma Alema muito legal, chamada Petra..Um Maltes muito engracado, Kevin...E um carinha daqui mesmo, Hamad...Muito gente boa ele, fica levando a gente pra cima e pra baixo sem frescura. Eh legal pq ao mesmo tempo a gente aprende mais os costumes locais e no fim deixa o preconceito de lado e tenta entender mais as coisas. Semana que vem ele vai levar a gente pra cidade onde os pais dele moram...2 horas de carro de Dubai..parece que o lugar eh muito bonito...Nao vemos a hora.
Hoje a gente comecou o treinamento de verdade! Principios de Aerodinamica...Airbus 330...e meu favorito TURBULENCIA!!! Muito show os procedimentos em caso de turbulencia! Engracado tbem..Por ex: Se a gente tiver a infelicidade de passar por uma Turbulencia Pesada sem aviso previo...No meio do jantar...A gente tem que travar o carrinho...Colocar o cafe no chao e se nao tiver nenhum acento vago por perto..sentar no colo do primeiro neguinho que vc ver na frente!!!! Imaginam a cena!!!! Amanha vamos pro simulador!! Vao fazer a gente passar por tudo qto eh situacao possivel!!!! To tao empolgado que nem vou dormir a noite!!! :)
