Dusseldorf & Cologne

Dusseldorf & Cologne

Well, well, after months and months of trying I finally managed to get a Dusseldorf flight, so I could go and visit my friend Chris in Cologne. The best thing about this flight was that it was actually on a Saturday, so Chris had the chance to show me whats the nightlife in Cologne is all about.
Got to the Hotel at 9pm and Chris came to pick me up at 11pm. We then drove to Cologne, which is only 1/2 an hour away from Dusseldorf. Took 2 or 3 pictures of the main church in Cologne and headed to check out the Bars & Clubs straight away. It was fun, but not as much fun as I expected to be honest, but again it was middle of winter, and apparently the best parties actually happens in summer, so lets give them some credit. :P Left Cologne by train, cos Chris had to work early in the morning the next day, and managed to get back to the Hotel without any problems on my own. :)
The next day I just took a tram to the city centre and walked around taking pictures of Dusseldorf. It was a beautiful sunny sunday and the main streets were packed with families and couples enjoying their weekend together under the sunshine. Hope you all enjoy the pics, and thanks again Chris for taking me out!!! :) xxx

Mardi Gras & Toy Box

Mardi Gras & Toy Box

Thank's to a miracle from Scheduling I managed to get a flight to Sydney during Mardi Gras Weekend!!! Yes thats right, I was being paid to have fun in Sydney during its busiest time. I was thrilled when I found out the number of friends from all over the World who was also flying to sydney for the event, and could not wait to get there and party the whole 2 days! On my first day in Sydney, I just took it easy, and spent the day with Lee (A dear Friend from Christchurch) doing some last minute shopping and tanning on Bondi Beach. We both headed back to our beds quite early since we had to save all our energies for the Big Night on saturday.
On saturday I had to wake up pretty early and operate a turn around flight to Auckland. But after having a beautiful 12 hour sleep it wasnt as tiring as I expected. Landed back to Sydney at around 7pm and when I got back to the Hotel, Raf (my dear Monkey from Colombia), along with Lee and a few other friends were already waiting for me at the Lobby to get the party started! Had a few Red Bulls and Green Apple vodka and when it was close to midnight we left for the big Mardi Gras after Party @ Fox Studios. It was a big mix of feelings really, cos its always weird to be surrounded by more than 7 thousand Fags and not really want to be with any of them. :s Nway, private life details apart, we all had a really good time, and managed to get through the night with the happiest mood ever! Left Mardi Gras around 7am and headed back to Sofitel for a power nap! Thats right, a power nap, cos we had tickets for Toy Box the next day, which was starting at midday! :)
When we got to Toy Box I knew it was gonna be even better than the night before. Just the first impression itself was way better! On the top of that, Toy Box actually takes place inside of an amusement park, and all the rides are for free throughout the day! The atmosphere as well was so much better and I knew we were gonna have fun! It's hard to describe how good it was, I guess it is one of those situations that you just had to be there, but yeah, I hope the pictures I managed to take with my phone helps, or you can always log on to www.toyboxparty.com.au for more details. :)
Just wanna say thanks to Raf, Lee, Locky, Dom & Jesse for being part of such a great weekend!!! xxx to all.

Bangkok with Chrissie's Mum!

Bangkok with Chrissie's Mum

My first trip of the month of March was pretty exciting. It started with a 24 hour layover in Bangkok with Chrissie's Mum! For those of you who doesn't know who Chrissie is, well she is one of my best friends in Dubai, a beautiful 1/2 Thai, 1/2 Danish girl. Met her over a year ago on a Brisbane trip, and last month she invited me to go to Copenhagen with her. I had the privilege then to meet her mum, who is the coolest Thai mum hey. Well, when I was in Copenhagen I told her I was gonna be in Bangkok for a day early March, and it happened that she was going to be there too on her holidays, and would be more than happy to take me out and show me around. :)
As planed I was ready to go at 7am in the morning, when she then came to pick me up along with her Mother-in-law. We then headed to The Grand Palace and I was blown away by its beauty. Afterwards we went to see the lying Buddah and also did a quick boat trip around the canals of interesting Bangkok.
It was an amazing day, and I would like to thank Chrissie's Mum for a terrific time in Bangkok! :)
